Hooray,
All amigos are finally here. So Jen, Vonny and Deb arrived in Lima from Santiago where they had gone wine tasting and even when skiing! Apparently they just a taxi 2 hours straight up into the Andes and found snow.
So we met up at the Grand Hotel Bolivar which is amazing. According to the guide book and the left behind Lyrical (Lynley), the thing to do in Lima is to have a Pisco Sour in this hotel.
So after spending an afternoon looking around the main squares and visiting an old monastry with 25000 bodies buried in its catacombs (with bones classified by archeologists and carefully arranged in concentric circles) we then returned to the hotel for our Pisco Sours.
